As you wrap up writing the response paper, it's a perfect time to reflect on the process and consider what worked well for you and what you would like to improve or revise in your writing process next time you write a research project.
In your comment, please respond to the following:
- What skills or techniques helped you research your topic and/or write your paper? How do you know these skills or techniques helped your project be more successful?
- What would you like to improve about your process for writing a research paper? Would you revise anything about the process?
- What did you learn about your topic as a result of this process? What did you learn about researching/writing as a part of completing this project?
i used different kinds of techniques in writing this paper about cell phone use. i used annotations which helped me when i made comments in the margins or about the argument of that statement.it helped when i went back to re-read it. i also used the alternating method witch that helped to because i was able to have different point of view. i also enjoyed when we wrote the critique i was able to add to that and see where i needed further help in finishing my paper. these different techniques were very helpful to me i would use these for papers in the future.
ReplyDeleteI used annotation to highlight and note subjects, questions, and comments in the marging of the paper. I used the internet to find credible sources. I also used alternating method to organize, compare and contrast my paper. The thing that I would do different next time is maybe pick a different subject. I found it really hard to find contrasting information. I learned a lot about my topic and basically everyone had the same opinion. If you go with the reserch you have on definate answer.
ReplyDeleteI wrote notes, underlined key sentences, read and re-read and had a friend help me get my question. I learened alot about steroid use and what good and harm it can do. I think my process and research skills are good i just wish i could format it better.
ReplyDeleteI used website searches, at first the process was slow and overwhelming, then picked up with all the information I found. This was one of the hardest paper I've ever written. In highschool my senior project was a job shadowing project and that compared to this in some ways.I would like to improve on staying focused on my research question and not getting lost in the interesting information I do find.I learned more on the regulations in steroids and sports. I would start putting my paper together more in chunks instead of following the steps I took.
ReplyDeleteThe skills or techniques that helped me research my topic were databases, and website searches through other schools like lemoyne. My friend goes to lemoyne, so it was pretty helpful to be able to get into their database and find a few good reliable sources for my paper! These searches helped me because I knew they were very reliable sources, and I didnt have to worry about false information.
ReplyDeleteWhat I would like to improve in my process of writing a research paper would probably be the way i go about getting my information, I want to find and use more useful sources instead of finding a bunch of sources that i think would work for my paper and then while writing my paper, figure out that these arent the best sources. So basically I need to read all my sources better instead of being lazy and skimming over them thinking that theyre what I need.
What I learned about researching my topic is that you really can't live life happily off of minimum wage, and have all the things you need to survive without being stressed or upset in some way.
